How to use captured data with Elan video annotation software?

Elan is an multi-platform open source tool developed to assist researchers work with video and data (download here). We have found it very useful for annotation work and deriving "ground truths".

Another useful bit of software that we use is a Matlab toolbox that facilitates working with Elan files in Matlab environment called SALEM (download here ). Here is a video tutorial that shows how to use AX3 data with Elan:
